For several decades, the Castiglioni-Mariotti dictionary has been highly regarded by students and scholars alike, thanks to its scientific rigor, clarity of structure, and rich content.

The application includes both Latin-Italian and Italian-Latin sections from the vocabulary (4th edition), searchable by lemmas, forms, and full text. Additionally, it encompasses declension tables for nominal and verbal Latin entries, along with linguistic and antiquarian appendices. The downloadable version available for free from the store functions in trial mode, allowing access to only the vocabulary starting with the letter A as a demonstration. Users can unlock all the contents of the dictionary by purchasing a license directly through the app or by creating an account within the app and entering the unlock code found on the CD-ROM labels sold alongside print copies of the 4th edition (for copies marketed from 2014 onwards).

Once downloaded, the dictionary allows for offline access to entries without the need for an internet connection.
